UNHCR Kuwait in collaboration with Tanmeia Foundation, launched a joint campaign in Ramadan to provide aid to the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh
The Global Charity Association for Development (Tanmeia Foundation) in collaboration with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in the State of Kuwait and the "Give" platform, launched in Ramadan its second relief campaign to help Rohingya refugees under the campaign title "Lifeline - Relief and Empowerment", .
The COVID-19 pandemic has deepened the plight of refugee and displaced families who are being pushed further into poverty. Thousands of families in the region have reported losing their only daily source of livelihood, and they are now facing high levels of food insecurity.
This prompted UNHCR in Kuwait to launch a Rohingya relief campaign 10 days before the holy month of Ramadan in collaboration with the Global Charity Association for Development (Tanmeia Foundation) to respond to the needs of refugees in Bangladesh for the second year to secure shelter, food, clean water and education, especially after the massive fire which devastated parts of the Kutupalong-Balukhali refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar days before Ramadan which have caused the displacement of 48,000 refugees.
