International Volunteers Day "Voices of Service" storytelling event

As we marked International Volunteer Day, the United Nations in the State of Kuwait, in coordination with UN Volunteers and in collaboration with Qesati, hosted an inspiring storytelling and discussion session, “Voices of Service”.

The event featured representatives from some of Kuwait’s most impactful volunteer organizations, including: 

• Muneea Aljeeran, Community Engagement Specialist at Manara Volunteering Team 

• Dr. Ghassan Abdullah Alothman, Consultant Pediatric Respirologist and Founder & CEO of @Athr Community (NPO), specializing in healthy urbanism and community development 

• Farah Al-Ali, Member of Basta Non-Profit Company 

• Lulwa Alsharrah, Senior Coordinator at the Community Empowerment Department in LOYAC 

Through their stories, we explored the significant contributions of these organizations to volunteerism, learned about the personal experiences that inspired their journeys, and reflected on the profound impact of their work on our community. The session also highlighted how volunteering fosters personal growth, the importance of collective action, and the future of volunteerism in shaping society. This was an opportunity to recognise our own #UNVs at the @uninkuwait country office.
