The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office and the UN Migration Network Coordinated the organization of the 4th UN75 Talk in collaboration with the Government of the State of Kuwait on efforts of Kuwait to respond to socio-economic impact to COVID10 on migrant workers. The COVID-19 pandemic is turning into a twin crisis with the socioeconomic impact. A previous UN Talk shed light on the importance of managing broken supply chains with a focus on resources and institutional preparedness for long-term resilience.

This UN Talk focus on national efforts to overcome to contain the situation, its socioeconomic impact on migrant workers and how their vulnerabilities could be exacerbated throughout this crisis. The Talk highlighted the effective regulation of migrant workers’ recruitment and placement will enhance their protection and contribute to the sustainable development of Kuwait moving forward. Through participating in this UN Talk, the audience will gain a deeper understanding of: The multifaceted practices of exploitation leading to human trafficking.
